What kind of car do you have and how much does it cost to fill it up?

I've got a 1997 Saturn SL1 Sedan. Even with gas prices in my area around $3.60 a gallon, $20 still fills it up to full. I get around 25-28 MPG city. It's a pretty shitty car but it gets me wherever I want to go and is economical.

>£1.10 a litre here

That's £5.46 a gallon.

That's $10.75 US.

Gotta love the UK. :p

I use my bike most of the time, about £12 for a tank now, and it'll do just short of 150 mi on that.

Driving past a BP garage a few days ago, saw diesel at 129p a litre

Anyway my cars a old VW beetle, 1200cc. Has a 36 litre tank so £40+ to fill. Gets 30-35 mpg if you drive normally and i use a tank in just over 2 weeks.

BTW, OP you say 25-28mpg is economical, just shows how the views on efficiency massively vary from country to country.

And Deus don't they sell petrol in the states in US gallons, (3.79 litres not our 4.5 litres)? That changes the cost to $8.98 a US gallon.

Ah, good point.

Still a massive difference, though.

$3.60gal x 21gal tank = ~$75 to fill
16mpg = ~340mi

I drive a Mercedes ML320, about 70 to fill it up at 3.8USD/gal (~20gal) and I end up getting 14mpg city/18mpg hwy. It's a German car.... and still gets shitty mpg. It can rut like hell though
