I say temporary, only because it IS limited. It would last much longer than the current system though, buy us some more time. And it's simple!
We should just have all of our garbage taken to the coast of an ocean, and then by boat for a few hundred miles and then dumped there. Not like we ever use the ocean, right? I mean, I've never even seen it. People can't live on the water, for the most part. This frees up more space that was originally thought to be room former dumps would need in the future.
It's perfect.

I agree, lets dump potentially poisonous waste into the ocean and destroy the eco system from the bottom up. Also lets get it driven to the coast gas guzzling trucks, THEN use more fuel to take it to the middle of a shipping lane! Not like we ever use the ocean, right? I mean its not like it fuels the entire worlds water needs. People cant live on the water, only millions of other species like krill and plankton which form the base of the food chain can. So yeah OP, you're a genius
