Anyone have experiance using a vertical axis wind turbine to produce electric energy for a home? I live in a small town.
It looks like a $5,000 startup cost. I like the pacwind company's turbines. Are there any wind energy companies that someone has used or worked at, that I can check out.
My area has a low-moderate wind charting. I think attaching a turbine to my chimney would raise it high enough above my house.
My energy company won't allow me on it's grid, so I'd have to store or blow out any extra. But could a home use up enough electricty to keep that at a minimun? Would the new A123 (?) battery technology be used for storage?.
I dream of a totally electric garage, like a very small Jay Leno setup. Electric lights, lawn mower, snow blower and tools, maybe air condition it.
All information is welcomed!
