I posted an experience I had of god consciousness on here a few months ago. Since then things have been different and I'm a little afraid to go further with this. I heard people could go insane from reaching this state and I would feel much more comfortable with a guru. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I would go about finding one?

I have read, and accept as true, that the whole guru thing is Piscean Age business.

As we enter the Aquarian Age, it is more important to go within, for it is there that we will find all the wisdom and love and strength and compassion we need, and will ever need.

That said, it can't hurt to read words of wisdom from those who are farther along on the path we are-- it is all the same path. Check the recommended readings thread.

The only enemy you have now or will ever have, is fear. There is nothing you must fear. Fuck fear.

If you can follow all the teachings and all advice of your guru, then the path to God will be a lot easier and smoother than if you went the same path on your own.

Going on your own can also be extremely dangerous when it comes to dealing with Kundalini.

In what way did you come across this information...about the ages?

^ I must disagree. For instance, I think highly of Deepak Chopra--but if I tried to follow his path, the best I could aspire to be would be a second-rate Chopra. My intent is to become a first-rate me.

To reiterate--the age of gurus is past. Take the recent Live Earth concert--no one person can affect global warming, but if we all did some little things--switch of hi-efficiency light bulbs or inflate the tires on our cars properly--a big difference would be made.

I wasn't afraid until just recently when I kept thinking I had schizophrenia due to an aspirin overdose (Unrelated long story and in retrospect I was being overly paranoid). Don't ever doubt the power of your mind.

My speculation:

schizophrenic symptoms could possibly be due to high dmt levels in the body. It's not really a bad thing if you can afford to have schizophrenia. Dmt is essential for getting those mystical experiences and obe's like you've had in the past.

But if it gets too out of hand then i suggest getting some anti-psychotics from the doc. That should lower the levels of the dmt in your body.

I don't think it works like that. I don't have schizophrenia. I just thought I had it. I was really paranoid, but I'm fine now.

so you don't want a guru anymore?

No, I still want a guru because of what I experienced last week with the feeling like I had schizophrenia (no voices or hallucinations, just paranoia that I had it and anxiety over the possibility because of an aspirin overdose) scared me into wanting a guru. As time goes on, I think I'll be able to handle it again, but right now I don't think I could.

Just because you were a little paranoid or anxious because you think you've overdosed on aspirin doesn't mean you have schizophrenia. Thats just silly.

but still, if you can you should get a guru.

Well, a combination of that and all the acid I took at bonnaroo ;)

And you're right, it was silly. I'm just the kind of guy that thinks he has every disease known to man. I shouldn't be a doctor :p

This is pretty much common knowledge among astrologers, although there is some disagreement as to when each age actually starts.

Each one lasts around 2000 years--due to the procession of the equinox--, the Piscean Age having started roughly around the time Christ was born.

Who do you trust?

1898, according to Hindu chronology

1904 (Aleister Crowley)

1911 (Blavatsky's Theosophical Society)

1936 (Edgar Cayce)

jumping ahead

1997 (Carl Jung, citing Nostradamus)

jumping ahead again

2012 (Terrence McKenna and the Mayan calendar)

Going by recent events, it is clear to me that the Piscean Age is indeed dying, but it is dying hard and slowly--hence the world-wide jihad, the rise of the Protestant religious right, the ascension of the Grand Inquisitor to the papacy and so forth.

So, what's going to happen to the world? I mean, will the piscean age go out with a bang? I.e. are we going to experience more war and violence?

Arms, what do you think will happen at the end of the Picsean age? Will it end in violence? End of the world (or beginning of new world) type of stuff?
