They're alright. But on a serious note; why do most photo/film editing/animation places use macs? I've never gotten that one.

Macs can run many many different programs at the same time which is essential for design work and such which will involve fairly heavy programs running at the same time. They're the best choice for art programmes as the speed and space on a mac makes it much more fluid to work on than Windows which can be clunky and freeze alot when it prioritises programs.

It depends what you what to use your computer for. They both have their pros and cons.

Pretty much.
I have always been a fan of mac hardware, and Have grown up with various macs using photoshop (since version 3.0), Painter, Illustrator, Final Cut, and others. OS9 was a bit iffy, but since OSX 10.2 things have been nearly flawless. I don't think I have lost a major project or anything to a crash since 2001. It's just solid solid solid.
But for gaming, go ahead and get a PC. That's what I did for that need.

For games, go a PC.
For (almost) everything else - go a mac.
Do both like I do!
Since I prefer consoles for games, a Mac is perfect for me.

My mac's broken. I didn't do anything to it and I'm no idiot. It just crashes and goes crazy after 15 minutes of use.
