Question about Niagara Falls Canada

So recently my friends from college and myself took a trip up to Canada to do some gambling and enjoy the night life there. I was wondering if any of you are familiar with the region... mostly curious about "off the strip" bars. Any places to go with more local patrons and cheaper drinks. $4+ drinks become quite outrageous after a while.

Alternatively... beer distributors in the area could be handy for a simple pregame. I assume that buying a case of beer in Niagara at a distributor wont cost $120 (as buying the same amount of drinks in a bar would).

The areas beyond the "main street" area of the downtown core is pretty empty.

It's like going from a densely populated area to residential in just one turn on a block.

Niagara's more known for it's wine, dunno about the local breweries. But the wine's pretty fair in prices.
