What are some ways you guys have of keeping up your energy levels while away? I'm thinking it could get fairly tiring, particularly while back-packing where you'll normally be sleeping at a different place every night . . .
I've got heaps of Berroca tablets, which I'll just add to water which should help keep me awake. Just wondering what some of your methods are. Thanks in advance!

This is a big issue for people who are going to be out on the road a lot. The best way I've found to combat travel exhaustion is to make sure you're in good physical shape before you go. If you're close to the mountains especially, hiking is a really great way to do that. Eat right and exercise, it'll make a big difference.
That's what I usually do, anyway. Right now I'm not doing that. I'm taking it easy and trying to put on some fat-weight. I'm in for some lean times on my next trip, so I figure a little fat to burn off will help me out in the long run.
Also, when you're on the road, you'll typically get up early. Go to bed early at least 3-4 nights a week, and be sure to eat at least one good meal everyday. Diet plays such a huge part in how well you feel.
Another part of this is that travel can be mentally exhausting, especially when you're in a country where you don't speak the language and things are very different from home. I usually take a good book with me and try to read for at least 30 minutes every night before bed. It's a good way to have a mental escape from your environment. Also, keeping a daily journal is a great idea.
Other than that, you just have to roll with it!
I either carry some of the great white dope, or find some when I get there.
I agree with Captain, and that's how I handle it too. your best bet is enough sleep (at least 6h a day, preferably 8 or so) and good, healthy food.
