swis was curious, if a nano of 2-3 grams be reduced in a 500 ml. flask? Or would the space involved be to large. Just curious, thanx

In my dreams, SWIL always ran RXNs of that size in around a 75-100 ml vessel. With a big sturdy balloon(or Nano-condensor), it seemed to be perfect for his objective!

Too large of vessels make it harder to judge the amount of H2O still in the reaction.

why the big sturdy balloon?

It need not be "big", persay, but it should be relatively larger than the flask size. About 1.5x or 2x the size(inflated). This just always worked best for SWIL. With really clean precursors, it's best to have more "expansion" room, without all of the xtra O2 mollys floating around. The big balloon, allows for more gas to be produced, in the smallest space necessary. The rxn will take room as it is needed.

Sturdy, well, don't wanna leak does SWIU?
