I use my scanner for the sole purpose of scanning and listening to mobile telephones. But of course there's good police, fire and rescue transmissions to listen in on. I like the 800-900mHZ frequencies. Thats where you'll hear your mobile phone transmissions.

You trying to get us to admit to any felonies, like the one that you happen to participate in? I doubt you're LE, but still, be careful because others might think you are.

u can "theoreticially" use a uhf tv to listen to cell phones, not like i've ever done this or anything

Yeah you can. Bad thing is, you need to retune it every minute or so. Thats why its nice to have a "trunking" scanner, to automatically switch their little subchannels. The sound quality on a UHF TV is crap, and you won't be able to listen to any specific convo, but its good if you're bored. Theres some people around here that always call these gay chat lines, its so funny. I can't remember he channel, long time ago... I think maybe 63 or something.
